Mudfest weekend pics…

My good friend Corey and I made our way to the seaside last weekend for the annual Boryeong Mud Festival.  Needless to say, a dirty and awesome time was had by all.

Upon arrival on Saturday morning, Corey, myself and 2 other hungry mudfesters went in search of a good place to eat and wait out the heavy rains.  We found this awesome restaurant(check out the sign), but unfortunately it was not open yet.

Kenny G!

We ended up deciding on a local sea food joint, where we all shared this bowl of sea creatures.  It was by far the most biologically diverse meal I have ever eaten.

After lunch we made our way to the mud festivities…

This was taken on the battlefield of an intense mudball fight

Later we made a bunch of new friends and hung out on the beach all night.

Sunday blessed us with improved weather and a good opportunity to relax on the beach and soak up some rays.

Upon returning home to Seoul, we ate dinner at Butterfingers, one of the only places in Seoul where you can find an all American breakfast, something I hadn’t had since leaving the states.  I was EXCITED

    • It was an awesome time :) And to be honest, the sea creature bowl was actually not so bad. From my western perspective it was WEIRD, but Koreans have been eating that dish for a very long time, so I figured it would be good to get a “taste” of some local culture

  4. That breakfast looks good, but I bet it made your heart have to beat that much faster to try to pump all that fat through your veins. Mmmm, tasty!!

That’s not to say that I think the sea creature breakfast is preferable…because I most definitely do not.

    I love you!

    • Yeah, I made the comment at dinner that the Butterfingers meal was probably the most fattening I had eaten in a year, but SO worth it and SO good in contrast to the creature bowl.
